Japhet Senyo Kamasah
Japhet Senyo Kamasah is a laboratory scientist at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR) where he has been a research aassistant since 2015.
Japhet completed his undergraduate studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Biological Sciences. For the past three years, he has been working with the severe typhoid in Africa (SETA) group which seeks to investigate the burden of severe typhoid in Africa. He plays a key role in working towards the identification of immunological markers associated with notyphoidal Salmonella infection in Ghana. As such, he acquired technical skills in performing immunological assays. He also acquired some field work experience, taking samples from animals and aslo doing PCR work as well for the detection of some viral and bacteria pathogens.
He aims to develop his research interest in the field of vaccinology with keen interest in exploring more into bacteria vaccine development for lower and middle income countries.
