I am a veterinary scientist from the university of Nairobi with a PhD in veterinary epidemiology and economics (2008). Currently, I am working with the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO), and as Director of the Veterinary Research Institute, one of the 16 research institutes in KALRO. Our institute has a national mandate on animal health research, including one health and AMR. We have different research thematic areas; i) epidemiology and disease control, ii) vaccines and drugs iii) diagnoostics iv) veterinary public health (zoonoses and food safety). My active research is on vaccine development (camels) and food safety (milk). This network can provide me the networking and support to further my research.
Earlier research work on trypanosomiasis has been very valuable in my career and gave me extensive exposure.
