Policy, Development & Administration: As head of Livestock Wing, responsible for national policies, administration and decisions related to livestock sector’s regulatory control, trade, animal health and production besides overall sectoral development. Advocacy, communication and coordination with high level policy makers on national livestock development agenda and technical backstopping of lower formations.
International & Regional Contribution: Actively participated and carry forward development agenda of OIE, FAO, WHO, WTO, Codex Alimentarius, APHCA, SAARC, ECO, EU and USDA; Interacted with trading partners and other stakeholders for promotion of regional and international trade. Concluded bilateral agreements for trade and international technical cooperation for poverty reduction and improved livelihood as envisaged in SDGs. Contributed to Animal & Aquatic Health Codes of OIE. Advocacy for institutionalizing One-Health approach to address global issues such as AMR, Rabies, other zoonosis and food safety. • Worked as Associate/ Partner/ Component of:
(i) GCP/PAK/088/EC - Support for Emergency Prevention and Control of Main Transboundary Animal Diseases in Pakistan (Rinderpest, FMD, PPR) – Diagnostics and Surveillance System was established and strengthened
(ii) GTFS/INT/907/ITA – Support to control TADs – Increased awareness and built technical capacity of regional (Central Asian Republics) and national formations
(iii) SLSP (Strengthening of Livestock Services Project - Eradication of Rinderpest from Pakistan; EU funded; 8 years) - Pakistan got freedom from rinderpest.
(iv) NPCPAI (National Program for the Control and Prevention of Avian Influenza; Government of Pakistan funded; 5 years)-Pakistan successfully controlled HAPI incursions.

(iii) Project Director (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE - Mad Cow Disease) Surveillance and Capacity Leading to OIE Negligible Risk Country Status for Pakistan; 7 years)- moved a step forward to get BSE negligible risk status for Pakistan;
(iv) GCP/Pak/127/USA (Control of PPR in Pakistan; USDA funded, FAO implemented; 3 years)- Developed PPR eradication strategy to implement PPR global eradication program.
