I am a molecular biologist with a background in laboratory sciences. I have worked in the Microbiology Department at the National Livestock Resources Research Institute which is part of the National Agricultural Research Organisation for ten years now. I am currently a PhD student at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha. My interests are geared towards molecular epidemiology and evolution of RNA viruses with veered interests towards vaccine design. I am currently studying the epidemiology of foot-and-mouth disease in border area of Uganda and Tanzania.
