Postdoctoral Researcher (bovine RSV)
Vacancy details
Working in the Viral Glycoproteins research group the successful candidate will conduct detailed molecular research on the inclusion bodies of bovine RSV. Using an exciting range of state-of-the-art techniques including correlative light electron microscopy, live cell imaging, proteomics and cell-based reporter assays the post holder will examine the virus-host interactions that underpin the development of these viral liquid organelles. Particular focus will be paid to their ultrastructural characterisation, as well as improving our understanding of their immunomodulatory functions and central role in viral RNA replication. This research will fundamentally improve our knowledge of negative sense RNA virus replication informing the design of a next generation of therapeutics.
The successful applicant will be required to manage the research program, working both independently and with other members of the team to deliver high-quality research data. They will also perform key administrative and management duties, reporting directly to the Viral Glycoproteins Group Leader.
