BactiVac Online: Training Courses

Overview

BactiVac Online Training Courses in 'Communicating to Non-Specialist Audiences' and 'Advocacy and Communications' will be delivered in November 2021.

Places for these online courses are available for BactiVac Network members only, and are allocated via a competitive process.

 

All completed application forms and supporting documents must be submitted to bactivac [at] contacts [dot] bham [dot] ac [dot] uk by 3 October 2021 23:59 (UK time). Applications submitted after this time will not be considered.

Training courses will be delivered by Dr Nick Burger, Dr Jim Weale, and Dr Sandy Williams from Scriptoria. The team at Scriptoria has extensive experience of delivering courses to people worldwide. To ensure the safety and accessibility of courses for all participants, courses will be delivered online through Zoom. Scriptoria online courses are highly interactive and will engage participants through presentations, group discussions, partnered exercises and polls. Courses

Communicating to Non-Specialist Audiences

This course is aimed at researchers at all career levels who are interested in sharing their work with a broader audience outside of research and academia. No previous experience in non-specialist communications is required. There are 20 places available for this course.

Advocacy and Communications

This course is aimed at researchers who are experienced in a given research field (e.g., Postdoctoral Researchers, Group Leaders) and want to influence policymaking at the regional, national or international level. Some knowledge/understanding of the current policies and challenges in one’s field is required. There are 20 places available for this course.
