Biography
Dr. Jeong-Byoung Chae is a veterinarian (D.V.M.) and postdoctoral researcher with a Ph.D. in Veterinary Clinical Science from Seoul National University. Currently based at the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine at Iowa State University, he focuses on prescription platform vaccines to combat respiratory diseases in small ruminants and explores immunomodulatory approaches to reduce antibiotic reliance. As both a vaccinologist and immunologist, his work centers on developing and evaluating vaccines for livestock, investigating emerging viral pathogens, and advancing immunotherapeutic strategies. Dr. Chae has led and contributed to numerous R&D initiatives—spanning live-attenuated, recombinant, and subunit vaccines—ensuring their safety, efficacy, and immunogenicity in ruminant populations. With more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and multiple awards, Dr. Chae continues to drive innovation in veterinary vaccinology and immunology, striving to enhance global animal health and sustainable livestock production.
