My over 10-year research, teaching and consulting career has focused majorly on the molecular epidemiology of tsetse and tick-borne diseases and in applying new research outcomes in addressing societal health and livestock health problems. These research efforts have culminated into our improved understanding of tsetse and tick-borne hemoparasites circulating in Uganda. My current reseach interests include but are extendable beyond Broad area of Molecular epidemiology and Control of Vector-borne diseases of veterinary and public health importance. In particular, i am currently involved with molecular epidemiology of trypanocidal drug resistance, MHC diversity in Ugandan Local breeds, Assesment of the efficacy of poultry vaccines and investigating candidate antigens for anti-tick vaccine development
