Currently a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science, University of Lagos, my principal research focus is antimicrobial resistance, molecular epidemiology, and genomics of bacterial pathogens of public health importance with the aim of translating the insights obtained into benefits for human health through multisectoral One-Health approach in combating antimicrobial resistance. The long-term goal of my research is to understand the molecular basis underlying the pathogenicity and epidemiology of WHO priority pathogens in order to develop practical measures for reducing the burden of their infections and resistance to antibiotics. I earned my PhD in Medical Microbiology from University of Lagos, Nigeria.
Bacterial infections, molecular epidemiology and Antimicrobial Resistance in isolates from humans, animals and environment.
