I am a veterinarian with an interest in epidemiology, ecology and evolution of infectious pathogens at animal-human interface. My current research focuses on epidemiology and surveillance of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases that threaten both human and animal population. The objectives of my research are to understand the dynamics, impacts and implications of emerging infectious diseases of public health concern aiming to design effective strategies to reduce the burden of disease on human populations. I have worked on a range of infectious diseases, such as highly pathogenic AI, anthrax, tuberculosis, leptospirosis, brucellosis, Q-fever, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, Nipah encephalitis, rabies, Hepatitis E, zoonotic pox, and economically significant animal diseases. Besides, I have also interest in wildlife, virodiversity, human rights, poetry, music and sports.
