His research has focused on alternatives to antibiotics (vaccines, bacteriophage-based, and probiotic-based approaches) to combat multidrug-resistant bacteria in aquatic and livestock animals. Moreover, he has also worked for antimicrobial resistance in foodborne pathogens.
