Biography
I am a researcher with a strong background in animal science, parasitology, and vaccine production. My research interests span several interconnected fields, and main area of interest in vaccines against neglected animal diseases as this is an area that affects LMICs. Another area of interest is being able to work with other stakeholders to move vaccine production to a more efficient methods such as using genetic material for vaccine production. I have extensive experience in developing and implementing quality control procedures for veterinary vaccines, and I've developed significant expertise in biosafety and biosecurity, including the development of bio-risk management protocols and ensuring compliance with regulations. With my master’s degree in animal science and undergraduate degree in Biotechnology, I possess a broad knowledge base that underpins my work. My skills extend to quality assurance processes, including GLP and GMP compliance, as well as conducting various biological, microbiological, and biochemical tests. I am adept at laboratory management, and have experience in research methodology, data collection, analysis, and reporting in scientific contexts. My knowledge of regulatory compliance, particularly in relation to vaccine production and handling of biohazardous materials, further enhances my professional profile. Currently, as a Graduate Fellow, I am working on improving Quality Control methods for CBPP (Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia) and CCPP (Contagious Caprine Pleuropneumonia) vaccines, underscoring my commitment to advancing vaccine quality control methods for critical livestock diseases.
