Saeid
Faraj Saeid is a professional veterinarian with almost twenty years of experience in a developing country (Libya) with technical competencies in epidemiology, disease surveillance, outbreak investigation and response, risk analysis and livestock production.
He is a veterinarian worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the area of early warning and surveillance, risk assessment, response, capacity building projects implementation and advocacy in the field of animal health.
Saeid is working with veterinary services to strengthen the public service though his ability to confidently assume management roles in key areas such as:
• Strategic planning including conceptualizing and designing a strategy, program, project including cost proposals;
• Leading and coordinating multi-sectoral project;
• Using multiple tools to build consensus among actors (SWOT analysis, causes and consequences; analysis, logical framework design, etc.);
• Leading and coordinating project at the interface animal (wildlife, domestic) and human health;
• Designing and implementing training need assessment tools;
• Facilitating workshops and training in resources limited settings;
• Reviewing, designing and implementing curriculum;
• Stakeholder relationship building;
• Managing project budget including forecasting and reporting.
He has been collaborating with international organizations, regional and national networks and has provided technical expertise to international and governmental meetings. He has also been actively involved in formulating several disease control plans.
Saeid has extend experience in epidemic-intelligence on transboundary threats to the food chain. In addition he has been working in the development of a multidisciplinary and integrated forecast approach on transboundary threats and zoonotic diseases. This work is conducted under a “One Health” umbrella.
Finally Saeid has strong ability to work productively with people from different cultures and backgrounds as he has international professional experience and particular interests in working in cross-cutting activities particularly in early warning systems. He has also strong interests in coordinating capacity development projects in developing countries in the area of animal health and veterinary public health under the One Health umbrella.
