I have fifteen years of experience in RNA virology research and have been a group leader since 2012. In this time I have secured multiple external grants to support my research from various funders including the MRC, The Royal Society, Innovate UK, BBSRC and Wellcome Trust. Recently I was awarded MRC NIRG (£530,000) and BBSRC One Health (£951,000) grants to support my diverse research programme. I am also a co-investigator on a £2,400,000 Innovate UK grant to develop Nipah virus vaccines. I have published a total of thirty-eight publications in high impact journals (e.g. PLOS Pathogens, Journal of Virology and Nucleic Acids Research), nine of which as the corresponding last author. I have also supervised multiple postgraduate and undergraduate students (>20).
