Biography
I have recently started as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Nottingham, investigating genes that could be used as targets for vaccine development against Streptococcus suis infection in pigs, particularly focusing on strains present in Vietnam. Prior to this I was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Pretoria, where I also completed my PhD in the genetics and genomics of mating in plant pathogenic fungi that are economically important to the forestry and agricultural industries.
Research interests
Streptococcus in pigs, transposon insertion sequencing, comparative genomics, gene editing, and vaccine development.
