Habeeb Oyedele is a veterinarian with keen interest in immunity and vaccines against infectious diseases in humans and animals. He is currently with the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as a Vaccine Security Specialist, focusing on vaccine security, ensuring the production and supply of high quality vaccines against infectious diseases in food animals globally. Simultaneously, he is pursuing a research career in human/veterinary immunology and vaccine development.
Immunity and vaccines against infectious and zoonotic diseases in humans and animals: Identifying targets of immunity and understanding mechanisms of immunity against infectious and zoonotic pathogens, and translating these insights into novel vaccines and adjuvants.
Development of vaccine potency and efficacy assays.
Development of a rapid potency assay for live-attenuated Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) vaccine.
Improvement of cell culture system for PPR vaccine production.
Development of a global prequalification system for veterinary vaccines, similar to the WHO vaccine prequalification scheme.
