Biography

Barbara Häsler is an animal health researcher at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) and the London Centre for Integrative Research on Agriculture and Health (LCIRAH), with expertise in animal health economics, evaluation and food systems. Her main area of interest is the integration of economic, social and epidemiological aspects in animal disease mitigation to provide practical and feasible tools that support decision-makers in the efficient allocation of resources. Barbara’s main research and engagement activities evolve around four main streams: 1) Economics of animal disease management; 2) Economics of animal health surveillance; 3) Food systems approach to disease management including nutrition; and 4) Evaluation of One Health. She graduated in veterinary medicine from the University of Bern, holds a PhD in animal health economics, and a certificate of higher education in economics. She has managed and participated in various international projects in Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia and has held several grants in the field of Agrihealth and One Health.
