Mr. Faheem Shahzad is a PhD scholar and senior lab manager at the Department of Immunology, University of Health Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. His research work is concerned with infection and immunity with a special focus on tuberculosis. He has deep interest in studying molecular pathways underlying host resistance and tolerance to pathogens. He is skilled to work on flow cytometer, real-time PCR, gel documentation system, and electrophoresis. He has more than five years research experience and has published more than 20 research papers in national and international journals. Mr. Faheem is an IFBA (International Federation of Biosafety Associations) certified professional and has worked as a Master trainer for Pakistan Biological Safety Association. He is also serving as ASM (American Society for Microbiology) Young Ambassador of Science to Pakistan and is part of ASM young leader circle. He is a motivated young scientist and social activist, and has organized more than 27 workshops/symposia across Pakistan. He has trained more than two thousand young professionals, scientists and students from all parts of Pakistan in biorisk-management, use of biosafety cabinets, and antibiotic stewardship etc. He is an active member of American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), International Society for Infectious Diseases and many other societies, forums and organizations working in different science and technology disciplines.
