Dr. Supram H.S is a Medical Microbiologist, currently working as a faculty and researcher in Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Nepal. Dr. Supram obtained his Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Medical Microbiology. His doctoral research was on the AMR-One Health approach, and he earned his Ph.D. from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India. Since 2012, he has been involved in various international collaborative research projects and teaching microbiology and infectious diseases to medical students at MCOMS, Nepal. He is an active member of the Infection Control Committee and supervises the clinical microbiology laboratory at Manipal Teaching Hospital, Nepal. Based on his demonstrated excellence in research and commitment to advance society, Dr. Supram has been appointed as International Young Ambassador of Science from the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). He has more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and received more than 20 awards from various international scientific societies.
His research interests are on emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance (One-Health perspective), mainly focused on genomic surveillance and understanding the role of MDR bacterial colonization in health and disease.
