Biography

Head of Animal Influenza Division and Assistant Director, Infectious & Transboundary Animal Diseases at the National Veterinary Research Institute. I obtained DVM degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1997 and Masters of Science and PhD both in Virology in 2006 and 2014 respectively at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan Nigeria. 

Research interests

Virology and infectious diseases at the human-animal interface. Zoonoses, animal reservoir and disease ecology. Pandemic preparedness and responsse. Preventive Medicine including vaccination and immunology. 

Projects you're working on

Molecular epidemiology of Avian Influenza, Vaccine research and development. Surveillance and early detection and control of zoonoses and viruses of consequences/ Public health threat.
