Biography
Majored in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Pretoria, South Africa and obtained Ph.D. from Rhodes University, South Africa (2001). Involved in heartwater research at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute since 1987. Part of research group that developed a multi-epitope heartwater DNA vaccine that offers 60% protection. Leads a research team that develops recombinant vaccines against economically important diseases of Africa.
