I have a Bachelor degree in Biochemistry, a Masters in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a PhD in Molecular Biology. I am a Senior Lecturer at the department of Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, University of Ghana. I currently have about 16 years of research experience in African trypanosomiasis.
My research is focused on molecular and cellular biology of parasites, and host-pathogen interactions with a special interest in the Kinetoplastid parasites - Trypanosomes and Leishmania. My current research includes genotyping of trypanosomes in livestock and tsetse flies, drug discovery and understanding resistance to antitrypanosomals in naturally infected cattle. Understanding natural trypanosomiasis infections in cattle for diagnostics and vaccine development.
