Kizito
Mugimba Kahoza
Kizito Mugimba is a Ugandan Veterinarian with fourteen years working experience in Veterinary research and clinical practice. He has worked as an assistand Lecturer at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Makerere University since 2008. He holds a Bechelors of Veterinary Medicine from Makerere University, a Master of Science in Molecular biology and biotechnology from the same university and a Diploma in International animal health from Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Obihiro, Japan. Currently he is undertaking his PhD at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences where he is trying to understand the microbiome of Nile Tilapia and how it could influence host health and host-pathogen interactions. Previously, Kizito worked on various poultry viruses with the aim of developing local vaccines and boost productivity. In 2010, Kizito was an International Atomic Energy agency fellow hosted at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, Austria under the peaciful application of nuclear energy project. His reaserch enthusiasm is in vaccinology as a driver for effective disease control in high disease budden areas for improved nutrition and income.
