Biography
I graduated from Addis Ababa University College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture with doctor of veterinary medicine in 2014 with great distinction. I studied veterinary immunology at the University of Gondar College of Veterinary Medicine from 2022 to 2024. Out of my major, I have a six-month training certificate on computers with cellphone hardware and software maintenance with networking from the SATCOM Institute of Technology. I also studied agricultural mechanization at Alage Agricultural Technical Vocational Education College with a level IV certificate. From April 15, 2015, to October 2016 I worked in Gondar as an animal disease control officer. Since November 10, 2016, till now I have been working at ALAGE ATVET College. I am enthusiastic to research on vaccine efficacy, vaccine matching, vaccine development, cancer, allergy, immunotherapy, and diagnosis.
Research interests
My research interests focus on advancing immunology and vaccine development through innovative approaches in vaccinology, immunoinformatics, and diagnostic immunology. I am particularly interested in the design of antigens and immunogens, leveraging immunoinformatics tools to predict and optimize immune responses. My work also encompasses the development and evaluation of adjuvants and monoclonal antibodies for vaccine enhancement, with a keen interest in preclinical and clinical trials. Furthermore, I aim to explore correlates of protection for effective immunomonitoring, emphasizing translational research that bridges laboratory findings with practical applications for disease prevention.
Projects you're working on
Developing a Diagnostic Kit for Lumpy Skin Disease Virus (LSDV): Focused on producing and evaluating diagnostic kits using innovative immunological methods, such as IgY technology, to enhance LSDV detection and control strategies. Antigen Production for CFT and RBPT Tests: Engaged in the production of antigens critical for serological diagnostic tests, including the Complement Fixation Test (CFT) and Rose Bengal Plate Test (RBPT), ensuring their accuracy and reliability. Serology Diagnostic Team Leader: Leading serological diagnostics at the Animal Health Institute, Ethiopia, with expertise in African Horse Sickness, SARS-CoV-2, and Foot and Mouth Disease. Responsibilities include overseeing diagnostic workflows, ensuring quality control, and contributing to disease surveillance programs.
