Biography
Selma joined the T-Cell Biology group at The Pirbright Institute as a postdoctoral researcher in 2021. Prior to this, Selma studied veterinary medicine at the Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität Munich in Germany. She obtained a PhD at the Institute of Immunology at the Veterinary University Vienna in Austria.
Research interests
Selma’s main research interest are the cellular and humoral immune response in pigs to bacterial and viral infections. Currently, Selma’s work is focused on the interaction of T and B cells in response to vaccination and infection in the context of different viruses such as porcine coronavirus (PRCV), swine influenza virus and foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV).
