Biography

I am a veterinary microbiologist in academia serving as a full-time professor of microbiology, my teaching, and research experience is 13 years at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan (Jhang Campus). I am also serving as principal Officer (Academics Affairs) at my campus. My commitment to teaching is 50%, research 40%, and 10% to the supervision of the clinical microbiology laboratory. Currently, I am teaching UG students in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program, BS Applied Microbiology program, and PG students of M.Phil. Microbiology program at my campus. I serve as a supervisor/ member of the postgraduate committees for Master's and a few PhD students. Most of the time, I am involved in the training of the students for performing laboratory work related to studying microorganisms and animal disease diagnoses. Students are supposed to learn laboratory techniques and basic knowledge of microbiology that would help them when they will be working in clinics/ hospitals. They are supposed to develop enough abilities so that they may be able to collect animal specimens and conduct an appropriate laboratory test for confirmatory diagnosis or to do research in the field of Microbiology. Apart from teaching, I am also working as Project Manager of a research project in collaboration with Veterinary Research Institute (VRI), Lahore, Pakistan, and mentoring students working as scientists in the said project. In this project, we are developing a novel vaccine for Hemorrhagic Septicemia disease of large ruminants.
