My career goal is to develop into a scientist that routinely uses epidemiology, statistic and mathematics to improve the control of infectious diseases and public health. I have a Master of Science degree in Medical Statistics and a first degree in economics and statistics both from the University of Nairobi. Specifically, my research project has been focused on improving accessibility of rabies Post-Exposure Prophylaxis through Integrated Bite Case Management (IBCM) in Makueni, Kenya as part of the “Zero by 30” target of eliminating human deaths from dog-mediated rabies.
I am currently transitioning into PhD studies where I hope to further work on rabies with the aim of using the Step Wise approach to rabies elimination in Kenya. I have a deep passion for closing the gap between zoonoses and promoting human health that encompasses the one-health approach.
I target to make my research work meaningful by ensuring it is reproducible so as to be adopted in other rabies endemic regions.
