Biography
My work focuses on studying host immune responses to new TB vaccines and correlates of risk of TB disease and infection. My research involves developing and establishing novel immunmonitoring techniques for evaluation of lung mucosal and systemic immunogenicity of candidate TB vaccines in humans. In relation to new vaccine development, I am investigating possible mechanisms underlying declining vaccines’ immunogenicity in TB endemic areas compared to studies in the UK, this include a range of T and B cells markers, and also investigating the role of prior exposure to non-tuberculous mycobacteria
