Biography
Dr. Madhanmohan Muthukrishnan is working as Assistant Professor at Vaccine Research Centre – Viral Vaccines and Biocontainment Animal Disease Laboratory, Centre for Animal Health Studies, Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai 600 051. He is a veterinarian by profession and has a PhD in Biotechnology specializing in FMDV Virology, Immunology, Vaccines and Molecular Epidemiology. He has more than 20 years of expertise in Foot-and-Mouth Disease research, diagnostic test development and validation, vaccines and immunology. He has worked in high containment research laboratories at Indian Immunologicals Limited, Gachibowli, Hyderabad (12 years) and The Pirbright Institute, United Kingdom and used different animal models for testing FMD vaccines. His research interest includes Molecular Epidemiology, Vaccinology, Diagnostics, Bio-safety and Bio-Security. He is the Member, Empowered Committee for Animal Health Sub-Committee, DAHD, Government of India for drafting guidelines for conducting clinical trial / field trial of Biologicals and Drugs for Veterinary use. He is also Subject expert committee’s (SECs) member by Government of India, Directorate General of Health Service, Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (Veterinary Division) to advice on the proposal of new veterinary drugs including vaccine, field trial and other related proposals.
