Biography
Nira joined as a postdoctoral research scientist at the Pirbright Institute's T cell biology group in 2023. Nira previously obtained an MSc in medical microbiology from Birkbeck, University of London. She obtained a PhD in microbiology at the University of Surrey, for her research on the immunological responses of ferrets to M. bovis in order to support the development of an oral vaccine for badgers Research interests
Nira's main field of research focuses on investigating the cellular and humoral immune responses to bacterial and viral infections. Projects you're working on
My project aims to develop an in vitro system to mimic B-cell and T-helper cell responses in porcine lymph nodes in order to evaluate the immune response after immunisation and infection. This will reduce the number of pigs used in studies to test new vaccine candidates. Discipline
