Biography


Alexanda Mzula is an Assistant Lecturer of Microbiology and Biotechnology. He has 6 years of research and teaching experience at Sokoine University of Agriculture (Tanzania). He is doing research in collaboration with other members in the areas of Animal vaccine Development and advanced diagnostic techniques in diseases of veterinary and public health importance using Molecular biology approaches. He is a collaborating researcher in a project titled “Increasing Poultry productivity through thermostable vaccines for control of Respiratory Diseases supported by Tanzania Commission of Science and Technology (COSTECH) 2012 – 2015, Novel Combined Respiratory Poultry Disease Vaccines efficacy and delivery methods in Tanzania and Zambia supported by Southern African Development Community (SADC) and Feed the and Feed the future USAID program project under the title “adapting of the MP-12 Rift Valley Fever (RVF) vaccine for use in Livestock”. Currently Alexander is a PhD student at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. His research topic is on "Characterization and attenuation of potential isolates of Aeromonads for development of a live vaccine for fish farms in Tanzania
