Biography
Kostas Vavitsas is Deputy Director at TeOra Pte Ltd. He has a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and he has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Queensland, Australia, and as Senior Research Associate, University of Athens, Greece. He was the Project Manager of the Singapore Consortium for Synthetic Biology for 3 years, and he is an active member of the global Synthetic Biology Community. Research interests
At TeOra we provide disease management solutions for aquaculture. We have a pipeline of products to prevent and treat infections for various parasites, including viruses and bacteria, and we are developing vaccines for fish and shrimp. We have a proprietary bioinformatics and oral delivery platform that can be adapted to design and produce vaccine solutions adapted to aquaculture disease, and potentially to other domestic animals.
