Biography
Holly holds an MSc in Veterinary Microbiology from The University of Surrey, earned in 2014. Following her graduation, she spent two years at The Pirbright Institute, contributing to the Non-Vesicular Reference Laboratory. This OIE reference lab provides diagnostic services for Bluetongue, African horse sickness, African swine fever, Morbilliviruses, and Capripoxviruses. Holly then pursued a PhD in Infection and Immunity at the University of Edinburgh, in collaboration with the Moredun Research Institute, focusing on the pathogenesis and immunogenicity of Atypical Porcine Pestivirus in Great Britain. Post-PhD, she joined the Moredun Group, working on next-generation vaccine development for Streptococcus suis as part of VAISP.
