Biography
Dr. Manish Kumar, Associate Professor, Amity University, Gwalior, India has done his B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD in Microbiology. He has expertise in the field of Microbial diversity, microbial genomics and In-silico vaccine designing. He is currently involved in teaching subjects like Cell Biology, Genetics, Microbiology and computational biology. He has guided one PhD student and 2 students are under his guidance currently. He has guided more than 10 MSc students too for their dissertations. He has received the SERB SIRE (SERB International Research Experience-2022) fellowship from DST (Department of Science & Technology), Govt of India to work under the guidance of Dr. Marina Kalyuzhnaya, Professor, Department of Biology, San Diego State University, USA for 4 months. He is the recipient of travel grants from DST and DBT, Govt of India to attend and present his paper in Germany during 2010 (Soil metagenomics, Braunschweig) and MiCOM 2011 (Microbial communication, Jena). He has received the best paper presentation award and cash prize during 105th Indian Science Congress-2018. Dr. Manish was also awarded with ‘BRICPL-EMERGING SCIENTIST AWARD-2017’ during ICAABT-2017, India. He is also recipient of travel Bursary award-2023 from University of Birmingham to present his paper during Bactivac-2023. He has worked as M.P. State President of Microbiologists Society, India (MBSI) for the year 2021-22 & 2022-23. He has more than 50 publications along with 4 patents, more than 1900 google scholar and 1000 scopus citations. He is the Editor and reviewer of different reputed research journals in the field of microbiology. He has organized several workshops, national and international conferences as organizing and joint organizing secretary. Currently, he is involved in the development of microbes based nano-fertilizers, the in-silico drug discovery and vaccine design, its validation based on wet-lab research.
