Biography
When I was in secondary school, I was excellent in biology, and I remember that I have been made many debates with my classmates about the fact and mechanism of pathogenic microorganisms causing disease. Having remembered till the debate about the role of such microorganisms, I decided to study in my area of interest, Microbiology, and I was well equipped with the knowledge and skills of the subject matter. Currently, I am an academic staff of College of Veterinary Medicine of Haramaya University, Ethiopia. I have been engaged in teaching, research activities, and community affairs of the University. My engagements in community services include clinical disease examinations, control, and vaccination campaigns.
Research interests
My research interest primarily focuses on understanding the phenotypic and molecular mechanisms of major foodborne and zoonotic bacterial pathogens that can be transmitted between animals and humans either through direct contact with animals or indirectly by contaminated food and environment. I particularly interested on zoonotic bacteria. I am also interested to deal with the antimicrobial resistance profiles of foodborne pathogens. Close association with laboratory techniques and my specialization assisted me easily to connect with research works for a couple of years. I have been engaged in research activities related to animal, public health and economic importance diseases.
