Biography
Keerthana is a dedicated research scholar with expertise in fish bacterial diseases. With a strong foundation in molecular biology, virology, and bacteriology, she is passionate about exploring the intricate mechanisms underlying aquatic animal health. Her work contributes to advancing our understanding of bacterial pathogens and their impact on aquaculture, which is vital for sustainable fish farming and ecosystem health. The research is mainly focused on identification of vaccine candidates and development of a vaccine against streptococcal infection in aquaculture which will be effective against the immune evasion mechanism of the pathogen.
Along with research she is involved in training graduate students in laboratory techniques and has served as resource person in several training programmes in Aquatic animal Health at the laboratory.
Beyond scientific interest, she is an avid traveler, always seeking new experiences and cultures to broaden her perspective. Music plays an essential role in her life, providing with inspiration and relaxation amidst her demanding research schedule. Research interests
