Biography
Noah Paul is a seasoned scientist and researcher with expertise in immuno-epidemiology, microbiology, molecular biology and vaccine development. With a Master of Science degree Biochemistry, Vaccinology and over 8 years of work experience, Paul has amassed a strong background in study/experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation. His research interests lie at the intersection of basic and applied research, with a focus on translating findings from the laboratory to benefit humanity, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Prior to their current position, Paul worked as a Scientist-Clinical Biochemist at the SIRDC’s Food and Biomedical Technology Institute, where they coordinated product-oriented research and development in the food and biomedical sectors. He currently heads the unit tasked with research and development leading to the localization of manufacturing of livestock vaccines, including FMD, Theileriosis, Blackleg, Newcastle in the short term. He has attended several online and in-person training courses to enhance his work in vaccine development.
Research interests
I am a vaccinology enthusiast and I am interested in development of minimum viable product (MVPs) antigens that can be scaled up to production. I am also interested in clinical trials and iteration of MVPs to improve vaccine efficacy and outcomes of vaccination. Automation and the integration of robotics into everyday manufacturing thereby leading to biomanufacturing in the 4IR.
Projects you're working on
Foot and Mouth Disease- Developed a Fundable business plan for the manufacturing of 6 million trivalent (SAT 1,2,3) vaccine Theileriosis- Development of an anti-tick vaccine Newcastle- Production of Lyophilized NC I-2 Vaccine Blackleg- Development of Blackleg Vaccine Zoonoses (Anthrax, Brucellosis)- Upgrading of Labs to BSL-3
