Biography
Hetron M. Munang'andu is a Professor of Host-Pathogen Interaction, Immunology and Vaccinology at the Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture at Nord University, Bodo, Norway. He has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Zambia, a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), University of London, and a PhD in Immunology and Vaccinology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Formerly, Hetron worked as a lecturer at the University of Zambia (UNZA). He also worked for the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) where he was involved in teaching and supervision of graduate and post-doctoral students. In addition, he has also served as Adjunct Professor at Zhejiang Ocean University, Zhoushan, China. Apart from supervising graduate and post-doctoral students, his current activities include teaching and coordination of courses for the joint Veterinary Medicine program shared between the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy (UVMP) in Kosice, Slovakia, and Nord University (NU) in Norway. Hetron has over 20 years of experience in vaccine development working in collaboration with different vaccine companies. He has also been involved in various international assignments on global health.
