Biography
I am an enthusiastic, adaptive, and ambitious researcher currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biotechnology at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the University of Pretoria. With a strong foundation in biochemistry and biotechnology, I possess exceptional analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and extensive expertise in biochemistry-based techniques to enhance scientific research and innovation. As a dedicated scientist, I strive to contribute to cutting-edge discoveries that bridge the gap between fundamental research and real-world applications. My ultimate goal is to make a meaningful contribution to society through my academic pursuits, using science to drive positive change and improve lives. Research interests
My research interests lie in novel drug discovery, vaccinology, immunology, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and biopharming Projects you're working on
This pilot study aims to develop an inexpensive, safe, and efficacious plant-produced rabies chimeric VLP vaccine, presenting the full-length ectodomain of a rabies glycoprotein, which is a key factor in viral pathogenicity and the primary protective antigen, which is crucial for creating next-generation vaccines due to its significant antigenic diversity. Following this, the efficacy of the chimeric Rabies VLP vaccine will be evaluated in an animal model. Discipline
