The Pirbright Institute
Biography

I am a molecular virologist with a focus on livestock diseases. Having obtained a PhD studying bluetongue virus at the Institute for Animal health (now the Pirbright Institute) I completed postdoctoral work at the University of Glasgow in the Centre for Virus Research, focusing on the host response to viral diseases, in particular the innate immune system and how this varies according to host species. In 2018 I returned to the Pirbright Institute where I now focus on next generation technologies to characterise both the virus as well as host response to infection.

Research interests

My interests lie in characterising different aspects of the virus-host interface, notably the antigenic properties of the virus and how this results in the observed serological response.
