I have been involved in different animal health projects since vet school. I have worked in 3 different animal health high containment units: CVI, PIADC and The Pirbright Institute. My MSc focused on Biomolecular sciences with focus on vaccines development. My PhD focused on Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology. I have studied the transmission of FMDV in vaccinated and non-vaccinated populations. My postdoctoral studies were focused on: the influence of cattle movement on FMDV transmission, improving diagnostics and vaccine developments methods (e.g. VLP vaccines), and FMDV transmission in the Buffalo population. During these studies, I have tested therapeutics and vaccines in animals models evaluating their immune response, protection against infection and infectivity status.
