I am Grace Sabo Nok Kia, born 10th July, 1972 in Jos Plateau State, Nigeria, I am an indigene of Kaduna state and married to John Kia. I am a Veterinarian with MSc and PhD in Veterinary Public Health and Preventive Medicine and a Fellow of the College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria. I work with the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna State from 2006 June to date.

My MSC research was on the Epidemiology of Rabies in Trade Dogs in Plateau State (2009) while for PhD (2014), I did molecular studies of rabies in trade dogs and the detection of some RNA viruses (which included lyssaviruses, arenaviruses, influenza viruses, coronaviruses, paramyxoviruses, reoviruses and rotaviruses) in bats from Plateau state in North-central Nigeria, where some of the ethnic groups are known for eating dog meat and bats. 

I have been passionate over the fight against rabies and have initiated and participated in various grassroots, state-wide and national functions aimed at rabies prevention, control and subsequent elimination ((www.waragainstrabies.org). I am very adventurous and my hobbies include singing, cooking, reading, traveling and learning new good stuff.
