Biography
r Jamie Mann was appointed Lecturer in Vaccinology and Immunotherapy in early 2020. Immediately prior to coming to the University of Bristol, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Western Ontario (CA) and before that, trained as a postdoctoral scientist at St George's University of London (UK), Imperial College (UK) and Case Western Reserve University (USA). Dr Mann's research centres around the development of novel therapeutic and prophylactic vaccines against mucosal pathogens such as HIV, SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza. Research interests
I Have a research interest in engineering immunogens and vaccine delivery. My work is focused on generating immune reponses for protection against mucosal pathogens. Projects you're working on
1) Integration of machine learning and camera based approached to disease surveillance in wildlife.
2) Development of a "Shock and kill" approach to HIV cure, employing virus-like paricles.
3) Development of an avian an swine influenza vaccine using self-amplifying RNA and virus-like particles. Discipline
