Jones Lamptey is a research scientist with background in Microbiology and Immunology. He is affiliated to the Microbiome group at the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research, but currently undergoing capacity building and further training in China. Previously, he worked as a scientist and laboratory mentor to the Takoradi Public Health Reference Laboratory as part of the laboratory strengthening programme by the Centre for Health System Strengthening (CfHSS)/ the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
