Biography
I have completed my PhD on parasitic diseases of ruminants where I investigated the immunological aspects of their infection. After obtaining my PhD in 2014 I have continued to publish in the field of parasitology and genetic susceptibility to disease. My focus has been on the diseases causing health problems within my home country of Pakistan. I am currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan. My nationally funded projects reflect my interest in the host parasite interaction and genetic studies. I have reached a critical point in my career where I would like to garner greater understanding of genetic basis of parasitism in nematodes of veterinary importance in Pakistan, which is essential to identify novel vaccines, drug targets and control methods.
