Bughe Rhoda Nsen was born in 1976 in weh, Menchum Division. Rhoda holds a bachelor and a master degree in Microbiology from the University of Buea. She received a female scientist award in 2001 during her undergraduate study. She was awarded a PhD in Fisheries in 2018 from the University of Buea. Her specialty is Microbiology; research discipline is food safety, infectious diseases, and disease control. Rhoda is a lecturer in the department of Biological Sciences, Higher Teacher’s Training College, University of Yaounde 1. She is the manager of the Food and Drug Safety Laboratory of the Biotechnology center Nkolbisson, University of Yaounde 1. She is an accomplished singer and scientist, both of which she does with passion.
My principal research interest is infectious disease control; these diseases could be food-borne or animal borne. The causative agents are bacteria and viruses oriented. The control methods could be antibiotics, probiotics, and vaccine.
1. Characterization and antibiotic susceptibility of Staphylocococcus sp. from chickens, which is responsible for fowl cholera .
2. Evaluating Bacillus sp probiotic potential against Listeria monocytogenes, Vibrio harveyi, and Salmonella.
3. Investigating the genetic diversity of Salmonella serotype isolated from different food samples in Cameroon.
4. Molecular epidemiology and Safety Management of fish borne Aeromonas Spp from fish Families: Cichlidae and Clariidae in aquaculture in Yaounde, Cameroon.
