Ruzaiq Omar is a distinguished virologist with a Master’s degree in Medical Virology from the University of Cape Town, where he specialized in vaccine engineering. His research has significantly contributed to the development of recombinant vaccines, including dual vaccines against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) and Bovine Ephemeral Fever (BEF). With several peer-reviewed publications, Ruzaiq has a strong background in designing, developing, and testing veterinary vaccines, particularly in the context of Southern Africa’s unique phylogenetic landscape.
