I am Sarah Akwabi Mukolwe, a Chief Zoologist in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Directorate of Veterinary services in Kenya
I hold a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Nairobi. Currently I am a research fellow at the International Livestock Research Institute in Kenya pursuing my Doctorate in Applied Parasitology.
I am a fellow in the Kenyan chapter of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD). This is a career development program for women in Agricultural research where I mentor junior scientists. I have also served as a mentor in the Young Professionals in Agricultural Research and Development (YPARD).
I have been a recipient of the World Federation of Scientists Scholarship (2013-2014) which saw my placement at the International Centre for Insect Physiology and Ecology to undertake my MSc research project. I have attended a Science Writing Course and a leadership skills course organised by AWARD as well as Senior Management course at the Kenya School of Government
