2021 NBAF Scientific Symposium
The National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) will be a state-of-the-art, biocontainment laboratory for the study of diseases that threaten both America’s animal agricultural industry and public health. NBAF is in Manhattan, Kansas and will strengthen our nation’s ability to conduct research, develop vaccines, diagnose emerging diseases, and train veterinarians.
In preparation for the NBAF opening later this year, USDA is hosting a virtual Scientific Symposium as a 5-day series of presentations and dialogues. The purpose is to share innovative research being conducted in the fields of emerging, transboundary animal and zoonotic diseases as well as to facilitate dialogues around research gaps and response needs in these areas.
