About the Role

As a Senior Scientist in Viral Vaccines & Immunology group, you will spearhead groundbreaking research aimed at developing next-generation vaccines that can transform patient lives. By leveraging your innovative mind and deep expertise in immunology, you will lead projects to uncover novel immunological mechanisms, and design cutting-edge vaccine candidates. Your work will directly contribute to the discovery of new vaccine targets and the optimization of immunogenic formulations, ultimately advancing our mission to deliver life-saving vaccines and improve global health outcomes.

Role Responsbilities
  • Regularly contribute and influence at the project team level.
  • Effectively collaborate with other members of Vaccine Research & Development and supporting partner lines.
  • Develop in vitro and ex-vivo assays for vaccine and adjuvant development.
  • Develop, optimize, and perform flow cytometry and multiplex cytokine assays to support preclinical studies.
  • Supervise junior colleagues in design and execution of experiments.
  • Identify, trouble-shoot, and optimize relevant assay systems, technologies, and readouts.
  • Develop assays or animal models required to support various vaccine projects.
  • Conduct research that leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation of data at internal and external meetings.
Qualifications

Must-Have

  • PhD in Immunology OR Master’s degree and 8+ years of scientific/technical experience.
  • Strong experience in innate immunity.
  • Highly skilled with biomarker assay platforms such as immunoassays (ADCC, ADCP, ELISpot, ELISA, Luminex, MSD).
  • Expertise in the isolation, differentiation and characterization of primary immune cells from murine tissues and human blood.
  • Strong background and experience in multiparametric flow cytometry assays including immunophenotyping and immune based functional assays.
  • Extensive experience in immune cell isolation and characterization using multi-color flow cytometry.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis.
  • Team player with strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Track record of scientific excellence in immunology.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in organoid vaccine models.
  • Expertise in the development of assays for adjuvanted vaccines.
  • Experience with coding, including writing R and Python scripts.
  • Solid background in vaccine research, innate immunology, infectious diseases or related fields, and a desire to continue in a laboratory-focused role.
